Welcome back to our blog series for summer party meals. Are you planning a summer party and need ideas for what main dishes to serve? We want to help you plan and create the coolest party of the summer.

As mentioned in our previous article, you have options of how to prepare the food in the oven, on the grill or do a combination of both. Remember to take into consideration the type of party, theme and time of day you are throwing your party. Remember to try to keep food on the lighter side in the summer months.

Here at Custom Labels Depot we want to help make your party stand out. Let’s take a look at main course options and ideas for you to consider serving for your next summer party.

Main Course Ideas

Grilling Options

Keep it simple by grilling your favorite meats, poultry, fish or veggies. You can include an array of various meats and seafood like chicken, steak and fish, or keep it simple with only one or two choices. Seasonal veggies can also be grilled, plus they can add some extra flavor and color to your meal.

Your meats and veggies can be prepared ahead of time, placed in your favorite marinade and refrigerated until you are ready to cook them. Some easy grilling options include burgers or sliders, skewers and tacos. These items are easy to prepare, cook and serve. Just have your toppings prepared and guests can add their own preferred toppings for a perfect main course, just the way they like it.

Baking Options

Baking options can range from fresh foods to any kind of frozen choices. And these are perfect as they are usually heat and serve. Pre-baking items can come in handy for minimal pre-prep time on a main course. Most food items can be baked and kept on a warm setting for up to two hours.

Salad Options

Is it too hot to cook? Go with a salad. Your options will be limitless with all of the possible topping combinations. You can include the grilled and baked items as possible salad toppings. Just wash and prep the lettuce along with a variety of possible salad toppings for a great party spread. Don’t forget the salad dressings and croutons.

It’s always a good idea to label your food so guests will know what they are eating. This also comes in handy for guests who may have food allergies. Visually it will make your food spread look more appealing to your guests.

You can plan on guests consuming about a serving and a half of food for a main dish. So be sure to plan accordingly, but also keep in mind guests tend to eat less in the summer.
