Are you planning a summer party and can’t decide on what food to serve? There are so many possibilities you can go with that it can be hard to choose food for the party.

You can cook your food in the oven, on the grill or do a combination of both. It depends on what kind of party you are having, the type of food you want to serve and how many guests are attending. In the summer months it’s best to keep food on the lighter side.

Here at Custom Labels Depot we want to help make your party stand out. In this multi-part blog series we will take a look at summer party menus starting with light appetizers and snacks you can consider serving.

Veggie Tray

Seasonal veggies can be served raw, steamed or grilled with several different dips to give your guests a variety of flavors. You can use custom labels to identify different dips for your guests.

Fresh Fruit Salad

Fruit can be chopped, color coordinated or mixed together and served with a side of yogurt as a refreshing appetizer for your guests.

Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

These finger foods can be picked up from your local grocery stores freezer section and you can easily pop them in the oven for a super simple appetizer served with marinara sauce.

Chicken, Steak or Veggies

Your meats and veggies can be prepared ahead of time, placed in your favorite marinade and refrigerated until you are ready to cook them.

The possibilities are endless with appetizers. You could make something as simple as a classic bruschetta or pita chips with a hummus spread topped with a sprinkle of feta cheese and a kalamata olive. You can also go for something a bit heartier like sliders, also known as mini-burgers, which are also kid-friendly.

Guests will usually consume about four to six bites of appetizers per hour according to this article.  If you are hosting a party in the evening, guests tend to eat and drink more at night, so you should increase the amount of appetizers you will need for your party.

It’s always a good idea to label your food so guests will know what they are eating. This also comes in handy for guests who may have food allergies. Visually it will make your food spread look more appealing to your guests.
